The social media and the future of Nigeria

The social media and the future of Nigerian.

The social media is platform for meeting with various people with different ideologies around the world.
It's serves as different means to an end for various individuals, groups or else.
Like we all know everything that's has an advantage most equally have a disadvantage as well.
Therefore, let's delve into the pros and cons of the social media:
Starting with the advantage, it's quite obvious that we meet different people all over the world via these platform. In a nutshell, it has made the world a "global village." You can trade, promote ideas even learn either religious or academics lessons on it. As well you can catch up the latest trends in politics, entertainment, religion or business.  These advantages are good and no one give them a close observation because there is no harm in them.
However, on the other hand, the serve as a tool to promoting enmity, hatred, brainwash, insecurity and deadly information to the entire nation because of its speed and free entry into the network.
Even kidnappers are using this platform to fasten their victims. Fraudsters as well are not left behind.
I therefore, find it not wise for the ministry of information to seat down less concerned and be looking at this deadly tool been used against our honourable country.
"The media", says Dr. Zakir Nain, "is the most strongest weapon in the world"
The media can change black into white and change a hero into a criminal. Such is the media. Something sensitive has to be done.
Quite sensitive enough for the government to establish a traffic regulating how authentic information and posts are been published before they are all been passed on to the third parties. The social media is one the fastest way of connecting to people and mobilisation of crowds as well.
However, this unprecedented opportunity has mostly been used as a tool by the cabals of this country only to disintegrate us and therefore achieve their own selfish interests and nothing more. Thus, government should pass bills and singed them into law for prosecuting anyone found guilty of intentional virulent propaganda with respect to the government, ethnic groups or any religion. And how do they achieve that? How?  It's by establishing this Internet and social media traffic. It's quite important for the unity of our country.
As individuals and as responsible citizens of the country, we need to start questioning what we hear and see on the social media. Understand the main aim behind it. Check it's authenticity before we pass it on to the next person. We should also be very vigilant of our political comments irrespective of our differences, we can still live as one.
From the honourable citizen of Nigeria, Yusuf Nasir Ahmad.
                God bless Nigeria.
