It is now exactly 509, 406 days since our honourable Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon, migrated from Makkah to Medina. Now equivalent to 1439 years.
Islam is a religion of peace. Islam is a religion that acknowledge and advocates for human rights all over the world irrespective of one's culture, colour, race, religion or tribe.
However, Islam has been portrayed as a religion of violence by the westerners in the international media. There is virulent propaganda regarding Islam in the international media.
I want to use this medium, the Islamic new year, to congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world.
We must however revive the culture and tradition of our Prophet, peace be upon him, of enjoying people to do good and forbidden them to do wrong.
Allah SWT says:
"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient."
(QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 110)

We have to invite others to our religion not only through da'awa, but even through our actions, our day to day activities and even our characters.
The fact that you are a Muslim, then you have to protect the integrity and image of the religion where ever you are.

I ask Allah, The Most Exalted to this struggle, a difficult one, yet make it very easy for us. I ask Allah, The Most Exalted to protect us against the unbelieving people.
We have Muslims suffering around the globe. May ease their sufferings.
May Allah, The Most Merciful make us remain on the straight path. The path on which Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him striped for and which his companions also fought for.
Though there is speculations as whether yesterday was actually 1st of Muharram or its today. According to the authentic sources I had I became convinced that today is the 1st of Muharram. I therefore, want to capitalize on this impeccable hour to also remind us of the fasting starting 9th and 10th this inviolable month of Muharram. It is the sunnah of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
