According to Merriam Webster dictionary, Terrorism is defined as such:
the use of violent acts to frighten thepeople in an area as a way of trying toachieve a political goal.
We have various terrorist networks all over the world. We needless to travel far. Here in our country, Nigeria, we have gotten some: the Boko Haram, Niger Delta Militans and now the IPOB group.
One might be surprised as why I called the IPOB a terrorist network? It's obvious. The current civil unrest that is intentionally masterminded by the IPOB at the South East is absolutely akin to that cause by the Boko Haram at the North East. We all agree to tag the Boko Haram terrorist. Why wouldn't we call these anti social elements likewise?
However, notice is been made of the Niger Delta Militants. But nevertheless, we have to skip them because that is not the theme of this article.
They, IPOB and Boko Haram, have been using all sorts of criminal methods to threaten the unity, peace and development of this country.
To foster peace, unity and security of this country we all agree and support the troops deployed to North East, Brono and some other states, by the federal government of the country.
Now here is my question: why are people not in support of the troops deployed to South East to tackle the civil unrest? Why? What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.
Terrorism is terrorism all over the world no matter how big or small. Yes Rome was not built in a day. Therefore, they will also gain ground as time goes on if not being treat with effectively.
Coming to the situation as to whether the so called country Nigeria should remain United, one has to be knowledgeable of the past, in this case history of the country.
"Those who don't", said Max Solium, "heed to history are doom to repeat it."
I will like to encourage most of our Youths and anybody who is interested and we'll patriotic enough about the unity of a country that existed only but on a white paper should capitalize on this eccentric opportunity, irrespective of his or her field, make sure he or she becomes free from the irrevocable ignorance of Nigerian History. It's important. If don't know where we are coming from, we hardly no where we are going.
I don't pray for war. For those that will only benefit from our domestic crisis are but those that planted the time bomb right the day Nigeria was amalgamated.
Therefore, they will definitely be the direct beneficiaries of this forth coming chaos. Beware.
